Did you know your mindset plays a big part in your weight loss success? The wrong perspective about weight loss is one of the biggest reasons why so many people fail with diets, exercise programs, and eating plans. But on the flip side, getting your mindset right can be a game changer for success!
Here are a few mindset shifts to help you supercharge your fat loss and keep the pounds off!
Think About Your Why
WHY you want to lose fat/create a healthier lifestyle can make a difference. If your reasons are based on feeling energetic, more confident, or other non-scale reasons, you are more likely to NOT fail.
Think of your weight loss as part of a journey to living a healthy lifestyle. There is no end date! Healthy habits created in your journey can set the scene for both improving your health and losing fat.
Choose your why and remind yourself of it often.
It’s NOT All or Nothing

Trying to do it “all” usually leads to “nothing”.
You’re more likely to succeed if you go for smaller shifts that add up to bigger lifestyle changes. If you do them every day, they’ll soon become habits. It’s a long game. You won’t see results overnight, but over time it can lead to change and results!
Breaking the Food-Emotion Cycle
One of the factors that make it hard to lose fat is emotional eating. We eat when we’re not truly hungry and because we’re feeling stressed, sad, or insert your emotional trigger. Breaking the link between your food and emotions is a key mindset shift to lose weight and keep it off.
Work toward understanding your true hunger cues to fuel your body for your goals. Mindful eating is a great way to get in touch with your body’s hunger signals. Also discovering ways to address your emotions without food can make a huge difference in being able to drop fat.
Visualizing Weight Loss Success
Visualization can be a powerful technique for weight loss, especially combined with positive self talk. How does visualization work?
To get started, visualize yourself successfully reaching your next goal. What does it feel like? How do you feel? Practice seeing this mental image and how it feels often.
Even though you’ll reach your goal in the future, keep your self-talk in the present tense and not the future for a powerful mindset shift. Tell yourself that you have the ability to change your body through the power of your mind and choices.
Please remember to remain body-positive. Appreciate your body and all the amazing things it has the ability to do. Your health journey should be focused on loving yourself and treating your body with respect. Kick thoughts of negativity and “punishing” yourself to the curb! You will accomplish your goals by staying consistent in your plan with a positive mind set. I’m cheering for YOU!!
